Northern Test Center Forum

Motivation

Testing related know-how is economically more significant than generally has been understood. It is estimated that half of the working hours of information technology specialists are applied to testing related actions. Increasing productivity in testing is recognized to be very important area of improvement. The effort to increase productivity of testing is a very rational investment.

In the high technology projects product testing has become a critical factor of success. A great amount of actors has advanced their capability in the area of product testing. In the Oulu area has raised new business activity focusing on the area of product testing. University of Oulu and VTT Electronics has firmly focused on the testing research. In the area of Embedded Testing Oulu area has been able to reach scientific position that is internationally credible.

Objective

The objective of Northern Test Center Forum is to enhance efficiency of testing in high-technology cluster, to harness emerging testing business cluster, and to build an internationally recognized center of excellence in testing through the entire life cycle of electronic and software products.

Organisation

NTCForum is managed by NTCForum Board. NTCForum Board is a guiding force that enables the objectives of NTCForum to be reached. Board works as an operational steering group. Board consists of the Chairman, Co-chair, Owners of Working Groups, members of Partners and Institutional Partners.

In the NTCForum there is a continuously revolving base of projects that take place in following Work Groups:

Work Group 1, Strategic Management of Testing
Work Group 2, Remote and Embedded Testing 
Work Group 3, Test Processes and Analysis
Work Group 4 , Software Testing
